Then you should consider becoming a PARISH COUNCILLOR.
To Qualify you need to be:
- A British Citizen
- 18 years of age
- Free of a criminal record or bankruptcy
- On the list of electors for the Parish, or
- Occupy land in the Parish
- Work in the Parish
- Live within 3 miles of the Parish boundary
WHAT DO COUNCILLORS DO?
- Decision Making – Councillors decide which activities to support and where money should be spent.
- Monitoring – By keeping an eye on how well things are working, councillors make sure their decisions lead to efficient and effective services.
- Getting Involved – Councillors, as representative, have responsibilities towards local people and organisations.
