Then you should consider becoming a PARISH COUNCILLOR.

To Qualify you need to be:

  1. A British Citizen
  2. 18 years of age
  3. Free of a criminal record or bankruptcy
  4. On the list of electors for the Parish, or
  5. Occupy land in the Parish
  6. Work in the Parish
  7. Live within 3 miles of the Parish boundary

WHAT DO COUNCILLORS DO?

  1. Decision Making – Councillors decide which activities to support and where money should be spent.
  2. Monitoring – By keeping an eye on how well things are working, councillors make sure their decisions lead to efficient and effective services.
  3. Getting Involved – Councillors, as representative, have responsibilities towards local people and organisations.
